Welcome to the Role Playing Section! Here, we will have various events where users can participate in different scenarios and create their own characters to act as.
First and foremost, you must always follow the
forum rulesSo now that that's out of the way, it is important to know that only the mods of this section can create topics. Why? Well if there are 5 different role-playing games going on at the same time, it gets very confusing. We will be doing one game at a time in order to prevent this confusion.
Please stay in character while role playing. I understand that often, people end up acting like themselves rather than their characters. If your character is based off of you, then that is perfectly fine. Otherwise, stay in character. Ex: A gentle character would never have constant violent outbursts. In addition to staying in character, please call each other by your characters' names.
Also, please be respectful of the Game Master and the scenario he/she sets. Meaning, if the GM says that the game will be in a realistic setting, that means your character cannot have any magical powers. Also, be mindful of the place and time the scenario is set in. If the game is set in Medieval Times, please don't say that your character owns ten robot maids. If the game is set in a lake in the middle of an untouched forest, be mindful that there are no ports or boats. In other words, use your heads and don't make up random things that make no sense within the context of the game.
If you need to explain the actions of a character or if you wish to speak outside of your character, at the end of your post please type something along the lines of: (OOC: blahblahblahblah......) OOC means Out Of Character. This way people know that you are speaking and not your character. Please don't speak OOC too much though. We want to stick to role playing!
In addition, please refrain from setting up situations that are especially sexual or violent. If the GM's scenario calls for it (for example, if the game were set in a fight to the death competition), then it is fine. And it's okay to crack jokes but otherwise, keep it PG-13.
Lastly, be respectful of each other. Characters are allowed to fight each other, but don't take it personally. The stories revolve around your characters, not you.
