I'm sure you were all forced to read Shakespeare or The Great Gatsby or some kind of classic literature book in all your years of school. So which ones did you absolutely detest? And which did you actually like?
I hated a lot of books but if I had to choose one... I absolutely positively hated The Joy Luck Club. I don't know why but reading about the lives of Asian-Americans was just really boring. Maybe it was because I experienced many of those situations for myself. But rather than identifying with the characters, I found them to be rather boring. The Great Gatsby comes in at a close second. Again, I found it rather boring.
Favorites: 2012: A Space Odyssey, Perfume, Macbeth, Frankenstein, all classical lit, Lord of the Flies, Our Twisted Hero, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, oh the list would never end XD
But if I had to pick one, I'd pick Night by Eli Wiesel. I actually read the book in middle school rather than in high school and I thought it was really powerful.
