Old People Logic...

So I visited my grandma today and we were talking about college. I told her I wanted to be a vet and her response:

"Nononono! No be vet! Be doctor!"

My thoughts: "Well ok, all Asian people want their kids to be doctors or lawyers. Pretty normal response."

My grandma continues: "If you be vet, when you have baby, you treat baby like dog."

Me: *facepalm*

Be what you want to be Steph, don't let your parents or your grandparents decide for you.

I had the same reaction with my grandparents though they thought college was a waste of time and money.

what you become is really up to you don't let anyone decide for you.

the choice is yours to make!

Rather than being disappointed, I was rather amused that that was her reason for not wanting me to be a vet XD My cousin and I laughed our asses off when she left. She means well though. I know she cares about me a lot.

my grandma Is always saying
" you could be a doctor or a lawyer or a principle of a school, why you in the kitchen all day?!"
to which i respond with " here's your favorite and most complicated dish grandmama"
to which she responds after taking a bite " OHHH DELICIOUS AS ALWAYS".
What a funny grandmama right? Lol

dont worry about what your grandma of what she says. remember the key is do what makes u happy! i feel for you and i understand. i have a similar thing but i wont let that get to me.

I think you guys are missing the point lol... I mean of course I'm not going to listen to her. After all, she did say I'd treat my kid like a dog. Who'd listen to someone who says something like that? XD It was just a funny little snippet I thought I'd share. Of course I'll follow my dreams ^^
